Caleb's Excellent Adventure - Day 5

Today was full. It began at the top of the Empire State Building. Lunch was at Wendy's - Fifth Avenue and 33rd Street. Then we were off to Chelsea Pier - on the Hudson River. We finished up by taking the bus down to the South Street Seaport.

Caleb took advantage of one of the viewers on top of the Empire State. He could see all of the way down to Wall Street and the Statue of Liberty.

Soon after this photo with his Grandpop Caleb headed to the gift shop for a postcard to send to his Poppa in Augusta.

Inside of Wendy's. A cheeseburger, a bowl of orange slices followed by a Frosty resulted in this happy face.

Caleb managed to sneak some bunny ears on Grandpop.

Chelsea Pier and a golf lesson from Grandpop.

Caleb did pretty doggone well for his first time!

Caleb remembered how yummy the ice cream was at South Street the last time we were there. So here is a repeat performance. For dinner we had panini. As far as we could tell it was Caleb's first time.

This photo at South Street is for Tanner. That is because behind Caleb is a group of Pirate Piggy Boats - just like in Dora the Explorer.

Mr. Caleb just likes having his photo taken. Can you tell?

While at the Empire State we talked about how the top is lit up each night. The colors vary depending upon the date. Tonight before going to sleep Caleb and I went down to the garden to take a look at the top of the Empire State. As you can probably tell. . . tonight's color is BLUE. The color is to honor the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation as well as United Nations World Ocean Day. On the 4th of July the colors are red, white and blue. On Halloween the top of the building is orange and on Christmas it is red and green. The entire lighting schedule is posted on the internet. It was fun.
