Caleb's Excellent Adventure - Day 4

Another pretty day. Today we went on a pedicab tour of Central Park. Our driver (or peddler) was Steve. We told Steve the main objective was to inform Caleb of things that may hold the interest of a 9 year old. He did a pretty good job of it. We learned of many movies shot in or around Central Park (e.g. Men in Black, Elf, etc.) We saw the pond where kids sail motorized boats just like the ones in the movie Stuart Little. We also saw a statue dedicated to a dog that was in a cartoon a few years ago - Balto.

Off to catch the 34 or 16 bus (whichever one comes first). Turned out to be the 16. Although we wanted to take a bus up 6th Ave we could not because of a street fair on 6th that runs from 56th street down to 42nd street. The pedicab tour was first on our agenda.

Here is the very start of the street fair. Unfortunately, activities such as this hold absolutely no interest for the average 9 year old.

After our Central Park tour it was about time for lunch. We walked the street fair for only one block when we decided on crepes for lunch. This was a gastronomic adventure for Caleb. He had a ham and cheese crepe and a lemonade. Here he is eating next to Grandpop.

We spotted this sculpture when we stopped to listen to a street musician. Just could not pass up this photo opportunity.

Walking back to the apartment we passed a local restaurant/bar called The Barking Dog. There is a brass sculpture of an artist standing in front of the restaurant so guess who posed for a photo (besides the artist)?
